FACTS Next Steps Educational Training Program is a component of our preventative health program. Next Steps is designed to serve foster care youth between the ages of sixteen (16) and twenty-two (22) who have either dropped out or aged out of school. We will use evidence-based strategies adopted from “The National Dropout Prevention Center/Network (NDPC/N) for effectiveness and sustainability that consist of School and Community Collaboration, Service-Learning, Active Learning, and Educational Technology.
We will prepare participants by using an innovative approach of life skills and GED Prep to enhance personal development while acquiring their High School/General Education Certificate.
Online training will also be provided for participants in order to enhance the necessary skills and competencies needed to pass the GED test.
This program also offers life skills through Arizona Facts of Life FACTS curriculum which will be used to develop personal growth of participants. Participants must complete twelve (12) hours of coursework each week in order to remain enrolled. Prerequisite for this program is at least 60% on all subjects of the GED pre-testing assessments.
